Background
Roman Empire is one of the largest empires in the ancient world that lasted for 2000 years. The Capital of the empire was Rome which was located on the Italian Peninsula along the Mediterranean Sea (as seen on the map of Europe below).
Rome being the capital was one of the most developed cities in the ancient world with captivating architectures (as shown in picture on the right). Rome is famous for its spectacular ancient structures which are still standing today and astonishes everyone. This remarkable achievement of an ancient civilization to keep its history alive till today makes Rome a fascinating place.
